Bach 2 part no1 3:58
Started 4
10.11 19
Bach 2 part no1 3:31
No4 ran through but not much at end
Started 13 (much harder)
10.12.19
No4 4:10
No13 3 measures in lol
Started greensleeves
10.13.19
B2part no1 3:03
Memorized 1st page greensleeves
B2part no4 3:35
B2part no13 is a bitch. Probably need a ton of HS. But if I can ever play it without looking at my hands I think my playing will greatly improve in general. Have gone through first page now.
Bach 2 part instead of Czerny for last 8 days.
So I have really been sight reading consistently for only two months. I guess it's been pretty good. Lots of improvement. Happy with what I've done with Bach two parts in only 8 days. Might learn all 15...?
Maintaining canon in D, pathetique 2nd movement. Memorizing Greensleeves and then air on g which is much harder. Would like to keep those 4 in my memory eventually. Then perhaps some Chopin of Pathetique 1st movement.
Figured out recliner causes right leg sciatica. While sleeping flat causes bad sleep due to back aching in the night. Inversion machine seems to maybe remedy this I think...

Currently trying to alternate running with an exercise bike while sitting. 8 or so minutes easy followed by a minute or two hard for each. Plus at least once a week on the elliptical with a 60 pound pack. This keeps my back good. I think Lendl had the right idea with the biking. If you sit it gets that ROM that aerobic running misses. But Lendl hurt his back. Thus the 60 pound pack. I'm finally able to sleep on my stomach lately. It's been such a long road back. So many years. Strange that a back can continue to "heal" 10 years after the injury. But not actual healing. Just a matter of strengthening to keep everything in place.
But only getting to do aerobic stuff maybe 3 days a week. Plus tennis once or twice.

Back hasn't hurt at all the last few weeks. It used to wake me up at 2 to 4 AM from pain. Hasn't done that in a year or two. But more recently sometimes it would hurt when running (the slight twisting motion) but that was related to trying to pull something towards me with one hand. (Disney spin ride, one arm rows). But still it would often just be very stiff. Like after driving to work, couldn't straighten out very well when first standing.
Last few weeks not even any stiffness. Best it has been in years. Not sure why. We do have this new mattress, but we've had it for maybe close to 6 months...? It seems to mostly coincide with doing longer running intervals (5/4's) but that doesn't really make sense to me.... Only other thing I can think of is that I've been doing some shadow boxing.
So last night slept in the guest room on standard mattress. Back felt fine. Don't want to take this for granted.

Did 2/3's at the track today. I've made pitifully little improvement it seems in this area. Way back in summer did quarters just under 90 seconds. Not much difference now. This is what I need to improve on. Provided my right knee can handle it. No interval shorter than 3 minutes in last month because right knee couldn't handle it. Was feeling better but after today I can again feel it just a bit.
My back has been feeling very good last few weeks. And I mean it doesn't hurt in the morning from sleeping wrong. It hasn't been hurting at all. This again coincides with slower running. Slower running may just be better for my back and knees. But it means not getting faster.
Also been doing one arm dumbbell swings. No ab work lately. And riding an exercise bike while standing as upright as possible.
